The user jotaEHequis shared his latest achievement with the community on the ESO subreddit. The Khajiit earned gold through stolen goods for over 5 years and became a millionaire as a result. He fared better than his Khajiit colleague who simply fell into nothing for an infinite time.
The Reddit post titled “After 5 years, I completed the Black Market Mogul achievement!” received 2.3k upvotes from the community and quite a few comments. There, the thieving Khajiit explains why he did it.
Lots of Gold and a Rare Achievement
What kind of achievement is this? The Reddit user became a millionaire because he set his mind on the rare achievement Black Market Mogul. According to the website eso-database.com, less than 1% of players have achieved this success in ESO.
The goal of this achievement is to sell stolen items worth 1,000,000 gold to fences. You can commit pickpocketing, loot chests and cabinets, murder the populace, and much more.
This involves a great deal of time investment, as depending on skill, you can only sell up to 140 items to a fence per day. If caught, you lose your stolen goods, and a bounty is placed. With so much stolen goods or murders, this can also be in the three-digit range.
Why did he want it so badly? For completing this achievement, you receive a measly 50 achievement points and no title. The effort seems not really worth it at first. However, you get the beautiful color Smuggler’s Violet, which jotaEHequis desperately wanted.
The Reddit user admits that it could have obviously gone faster than over a 5-year period. However, he plays rather casually and has also taken a few breaks:
