It’s almost time: The MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online is releasing the chapter High Isle on June 6 as the most important content patch for 2022. We will provide you with a brief overview of what you need to know about the release and when you can play it.
When can you download ESO High Isle? The major chapter is scheduled for Monday, June 6. You can purchase the chapter beforehand, but the patch can really only be downloaded at the release date. So, you will have to be a little patient.
If you want to play the new content on Xbox or PlayStation, you will have to wait until June 21. However, the date for the PC and Mac platforms is June 6.
From what time can you play? As usual, maintenance is scheduled from 8 AM to 2 PM. After that, you can start the download. How quickly you can start with the new chapter will depend on how fast you have downloaded the patch.

How do I get ESO High Isle? This question has several answers. Depending on what you want, there are 4 different versions of the new chapter. But before you get overwhelmed, let us briefly explain how to do it right.
Do you already own the base game? If so, make sure to purchase the upgrade and not the collector’s edition. Here you also have the choice between the standard or the collector’s edition. If you enjoy a bit of flair, the collector’s edition might be the right choice for you.
New PvP content makes way for a card game
For the first time with High Isle, the developers of The Elder Scrolls Online are releasing a game within a game. This is the Tales of Glory, a card game, which is supposed to be completely independent from the rest of the MMORPG. However, there will be no new content for PvP in ESO.
Here’s a quick reminder of what ESO High Isle has to offer:
- new area
- Volcanic vents as world events (similar to the anchors in the base game)
- new story revolving around intrigue (approx. 30 hours of gameplay)
- new feature: collectible card game “Tales of Glory”
- new trial Dread Cell Reef (12 players)
- expansion of the Blackwood feature: 2 new companions

With the previous chapter Blackwood, companions were created who can also intervene in combat and support the individual player in their adventures. This will continue in the upcoming chapter. Companion fans can have a Khajiit or a Breton accompany them in the new chapter.
