What do sets do in ESO? Sets grant you bonuses depending on how many and which items you possess and use from them. This works essentially like in other MMORPGs.
It is important to search for complete sets to receive the full bonus. These sets then affect your build. Depending on which direction you develop your character in ESO, you search for suitable item sets.
A good set for Magicka builds
What is Mother’s Sorrow? The set is considered light armor and is particularly suitable for new players who want to try out DPS Magicka builds. The set is often worn by Magicka Templars. It is popular, among other things, because it improves with passive skills that increase your critical damage.
You receive the following bonuses depending on how many items of the set you wear:
- 2 items of the set – Grants 1,096 maximum Magicka
- 3 items of the set – Grants 657 critical Magic hits
- 4 items of the set – Grants 657 critical Magic hits
- 5 items of the set – Grants 1,528 critical Magic hits
As a weapon, you should acquire a fire staff with the “Infused” trait, but “Precise” works as well.
There are certainly better-suited individual builds than Mother’s Sorrow, yet it is worth farming the items. They can be sold very well and thus bring you plenty of gold.
Where can you find Mother’s Sorrow? The set is a so-called zone drop, a regional set. This means you can only find it in a specific area of the game world. That area is Deshaan in southern Morrowind. If you are out there, you can find the set from bosses, in dungeons, in the open world, and in chests.
- Items for waist and feet are obtained from bosses and in vaults in Three Ways Mine, Lady Llarels’ Hideout, Blade’s Ear Cave, Corpse Garden, Taleon’s Cliff, Underbhanuall
- Items for head, torso, legs, and weapons drop from bosses visible on the map of Deshaan, including Druitularg’s Ritual Altar, Grove of Abomination, Caravan Mound, Short Horns Hillock, Mabrigash Burial Circle, Devastated Thorn Patch
- Items for shoulders, hands, and weapons drop from bosses in the public dungeon “The Forgotten Crypts”
- Rings and necklaces can be found in chests in Deshaan, including chests that appear in the zone as well as those that appear after completing a dark anchor or at the dolmens of Earth Scent, Lagomere, and Siltreen.
You can also buy the Mother’s Sorrow items, including the fire staff (infused) as a weapon, but it can cost you a lot of money.
The set possesses the Argonian style, which fits thematically very well with the upcoming ESO expansion Blackwood. After all, you are there at the border between Cyrodiil and Black Marsh and encounter many Argonians. However, you should not just farm the set to look good. The stats are crucial and whether it fits your build.
