The Elder Scrolls Online (PC, PS4, Xbox One) will receive a transmogrification system similar to that in WoW with the upcoming Update 17. With the “outfit system,” you can customize your armor.
The upcoming Update 17 of The Elder Scrolls Online not only brings the Dungeon DLC Dragon Bones but also regular content accessible to all players. Among this is the highly anticipated outfit system, which allows you to customize your clothes.
The outfit system in ESO resembles the transmogrification from World of Warcraft to some extent.
The heavy armor should look like a robe!
The outfit system is the dream of all fashion-conscious ESO players. Because often you had to wear ugly armors because they had good stats. The old, prettier armor was discarded. But with the outfit system, that’s no longer necessary.
I you can now “overwrite” the appearance of armors and weapons with the look of other items of the same type.
If you wear an ugly heavy plate with good tank stats as a Dragonknight tank, you can make it look like a fancy mage robe. The stats of the plate remain, but it now looks like a robe.
No boots as helmets!
This system also works for weapons, but in any case, the items must be of the same type. You can convert a chest piece into another or a one-handed axe into a one-handed sword. However, you cannot turn an axe into a bow or boots into a helmet.
Off to the outfit table!
You will assemble your outfit at the new outfit tables. They are found wherever the dye tables used to be. However, you can still dye your clothes there! Assembling an outfit costs gold or the new outfit tokens available in the cash shop.
Also good to know: If you want to hide your helmet, you need to set it to be invisible in the outfit system starting from Update 17.
Account-wide style collection
With Update 17, the learned crafting styles of all your heroes will be collected on your account. You can then use them for the outfit system and apply the learned styles there. Additionally, you can purchase more slots for even more predefined outfits in the cash shop.
Update 17 with the outfit system and the Dungeon DLC Dragon Bones is expected to be released in February.
