The MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online is set to receive a new addon in 2019, with rumors already circulating. Developer Zenimax plans to provide answers to your questions in an upcoming live stream. The name “Season of the Dragon” seems to reveal quite a bit.
In a recent official statement, a name was revealed for The Elder Scrolls Online: it’s about the “Season of the Dragon”.
This effectively confirms the already circulating rumors about the addon from Zenimax.
Live stream with goodies and info
Developer Zenimax will also hold a live stream about the new addon and ESO’s plans for 2019.
When will the stream take place? The live stream for the Season of the Dragon will start on January 15, 2019, at 11 PM our time. You can watch the stream on the Bethesda Twitch channel.
What is the stream about? In the stream from San Francisco, Creative Director Rich Lambert will talk about the addon and the future of ESO in 2019 alongside community managers Jessica Folsom and Gina Bruno. There will also be goodies in the form of Twitch drops for PC and Mac.
Additionally, there are extra rewards if enough people watch:
- 55,000+ simultaneous viewers: You will receive a unique wallpaper based on the concept arts for the next chapter
- 70,000+ simultaneous viewers: A “Pepperoni Guar” pet for all platforms

One year of content
This could be what the “Season of the Dragon” entails: As we’re talking about a “season”, a thematically related timeframe, one could now assume that there will be a new dragon story, and that it will really shape ESO throughout 2019.
So far, the new chapter addons were each standalone stories that were hardly or not at all addressed in the further DLCs of the year. The High Elf story in Summerset was followed by the Argonian swamps and werewolf areas in the additional DLCs, which had nothing to do with the High Elves. This could now change with the “Season of the Dragon”.
