Housing in ESO – Soon the Homestead Update for The Elder Scrolls Online will arrive, and you can already have fun with houses on the test server. A player has impressively proven how many possibilities housing really offers by building a new house from planks.
On February 6, the big Housing Update Homestead will be released for The Elder Scrolls Online. In this update, you can purchase one of over 20 houses and then furnish it with furniture and decorations. If you just want a place with furniture, you can simply buy a fully furnished house. However, creative players have quite different options, as impressively demonstrated by a player on the test server.
Housing in ESO: Hard work, build houses
The housing in The Elder Scrolls Online is very similar to the system of the colorful MMORPG WildStar – according to many players the coolest housing system in MMOs so far (besides the ones in The Lord of the Rings Online, Rift, and Star Wars: Galaxies)!
Just like in Carbine’s online role-playing game, you can fill your house and the property (if available, not all houses in ESO have an outdoor area) to your heart’s content with freely placeable items! There are almost no limits to your imagination, and the individual pieces can really be placed anywhere and in any conceivable orientation.
Even floating objects are possible. Unfortunately, the extremely cool feature for size adjustment from WildStar is missing. So you cannot inflate a brick to gigantic proportions or build a mini-dollhouse from tiny planks. Furthermore, the number of placeable items is limited depending on the size of the house. However, those who maintain an ESO Plus subscription get double the number of placeable items.
But even with this limitation, much can be done in ESO housing. For instance, the Reddit user and ESO gamer Sylance9 bought a large number of wooden planks and stone blocks and constructed them in such a way that next to the prefabricated house on his property, he now also has a nice wooden hut.
Another player has built a gigantic tower from which he can make death-defying jumps into his garden pond. You can find a video of these housing shenanigans embedded above.
A list of all available houses and their prices and locations can be found at the provided link.
