In several blog posts, new details about Harrowstorm, the first DLC of The Elder Scrolls Online in 2020, are presented. In addition to information about the dungeons, the release date is also included.
What is Harrowstorm? Harrowstorm is the first DLC released as part of “The Dark Heart of Skyrim”. It introduces the story that will engage you throughout the year in the MMORPG ESO.
Harrowstorm includes:
- Two dungeons – Icewind and Unholy Tomb
- New gear and collectibles
- A prologue quest for the Greymoor expansion
- A technical update that includes the reduction of the game client
- Balance changes to the classes
When will Harrowstorm be released? Harrowstorm is scheduled to release on Monday, February 24 for PC and Mac. Console fans will, however, have to wait a bit.
The DLC will be available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 starting Tuesday, March 10.
Fight against a mysterious witch circle
What is the first dungeon about? Harrowstorm brings two new dungeons, with the Icewind dungeon having been introduced more intensively already.
A massive storm is expected to emerge from Icewind, sweeping across the seas and sinking ships. For this reason, and to unravel the mystery of a lost expedition, you set out to explore the place.
Along the way, you will encounter Mother Ciannait, a fearsome and powerful witch who controls the storm with her coven and makes your life difficult.
In Icewind, you fight against the witches and their natural forces. They use snow, storm, fire, electricity, and even undead magic against you. Additionally, each witch has an ally with whom they attack you together.
In the dungeon, you will also meet an old acquaintance: Lyris Titanborn. You already know her from the main questline of ESO, and she will assist you in battle.
What rewards does Icewind bring? Through the new dungeon, you can earn some exclusive rewards:
- Four new equipment sets (including one monster set)
- New collectibles such as style pages, colors, and furnishing items
- Costume style for Lyris’ Icewind war axe, provided you complete the dungeon at veteran level.
What happens in the second dungeon? The second dungeon “Unholy Tomb” has not yet been presented in as much detail as Icewind.
It is known that you enter a tomb long thought forgotten and fight off invaders before they can awaken an ancient power.
DLC is the beginning for Skyrim
What comes after the dungeons? The new DLC also brings a prologue quest that is meant to lead the story towards Skyrim. You can complete this quest without having to play the dungeons.
Following the DLC, the Greymoor expansion will be released on May 18 for PC (June 2 for consoles). It brings the new Mythic Gear and the Antiquities System, through which you can earn new rewards.
It is named after Fort Greymoor, which is located in the Rift of Skyrim. The expansion is generally expected to bring back many iconic locations from Skyrim.
