In The Elder Scrolls Online will release Dragonhold in October. The DLC will conclude the story surrounding Elsweyr. We have gathered all important information for you.
What is Dragonhold? Dragonhold is a player expansion for the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online, which you can purchase from the Crown Store or play via subscription.
Narratively, it represents the finale to the Season of the Dragon, which began with Wrathstone and continued with the Elsweyr expansion and the DLC Scalebreaker.
The story picks up directly from the ongoing prologue:
When will the DLC be released? Dragonhold will be released for PC and Mac on October 21, 2019.
Fans of the consoles PS4 and Xbox One will have to wait a bit longer. The DLC will be released here nearly two weeks later, on November 5.
How much does Dragonhold cost? Dragonhold will be available in the Crown Store at release and is expected to cost between 1,500 and 3,000 crowns. 1,500 crowns are equivalent to 13 Euros.
Additionally, there will be a collector’s pack for an estimated 4,000 crowns, which includes a mount, a companion, and a “Scrolls of Learning” pack.
Alternatively, you can also play Dragonhold if you have an ESO Plus membership, which costs 13 Euros per month. With this membership, you have access to all expansions and receive additional crowns as well as other exclusive bonuses.
Season of the Dragon reaches its conclusion
What is Dragonhold about? The new areas of Dragonhold were afflicted by a plague 20 years ago, forcing the inhabitants to flee to the north. But dragons have also invaded the area now.
Now, primarily slave hunters and bandits inhabit the area, claiming the territories for themselves. Furthermore, you will descend into dark dungeons where dangers and challenges await you.
In the prologue, you will already encounter sword master Sai Sahan. With him, you will seek a way to drive the dragons away for good. This makes Dragonhold the end of the Season of the Dragon, which began with the DLC Wrathstone.
Which areas will you visit? In the new DLC, you will head to the south of Elsweyr, to the ancient Khajiiti kingdom of Pellitine.
Visually, the southern areas are expected to differ significantly from the rest of Elsweyr. The burned locations are said to be recovering and will present new, interesting landscapes.
However, some players criticized in initial tests that the size of the DLC is smaller than expected. Some areas in Elsweyr will also remain undiscovered in the future.
What does Update 24 bring? With the release of Elsweyr the player numbers increased and along with that the performance issues. These are now expected to be adjusted with Update 24.
Planned changes for the update include:
- Improvements to memory management,
- Initial improvements to the combat system
- and a complete overhaul of the group search system.
In 2020, further revisions are expected, including frame rate improvements and faster loading of the environment.
