ESO: Developers shamelessly use their cats for sweet PR purposes

In The Elder Scrolls Online , the cat-like Khajiit will soon play a significant role. Therefore, the developers’ cats were a major source of inspiration. ZeniMax is currently utilizing the cute cats for an adorable PR campaign.

What do cats have to do with ESO? In the upcoming Addon Elsweyr the Khajiit will take the lead role. They are a race of intelligent cat-like beings.

Some of them, the Alfiq, are indistinguishable from ordinary house cats. They wear special clothes and can speak.

That’s why developers are posting cat pictures: Real-life cats were a major source of inspiration for the developers. Those who had a house cat at home probably observed them well and incorporated their experiences into the design of the Alfiq.

So that you know which cute cats were the inspiration for the Alfiq, the developers published pictures of their cats on the ZeniMax developer blog. From the names, it’s clear that game designers probably never completely leave their profession behind.

Especially Skooma (a drug of the cats in the game) is an interesting name for the cat of an ESO developer. We have compiled the cat pictures for you here in a gallery:

Here’s how to turn your cat into a Khajiit: As a special bonus, the developers created a graphic mask where you can also dress your kitty in Alfiq outfits. You can find the two graphics on the ESO blog. There is a template with a turban and a template with a kind of tiara.

Just copy your cat pictures in there and post them on the ESO Twitter channel with the hashtag #CatsofZOS.
