The community of the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online is considered very friendly and helpful. This year, some streamers organized a charity event for Christmas to help people who are currently struggling.
What charity event is it and when is it? The current charity event is called “ESO Christmas Magic.” It officially started on Friday at 2:00 PM and runs until the night from next Sunday to Monday.
What are the donations being collected for? Tafel Deutschland e.V. and Berliner Obdachlosenhilfe e.V.
The thought of happy togetherness at Christmas time
Why did we choose this donation goal? Especially during the Christmas season, many people feel alone and lonely, even though this special time of year is supposed to do the opposite. In the cities, one often sees people rushing around with recently bought gifts.
In front of the stores, people are often sitting who are not doing well financially, without a roof over their heads. This is a stark and very sad contrast and does not fit the idea of a contemplative Christmas season. We want to counteract this sad fact.
We want to get closer to the idea of togetherness by bringing together various people through this donation project. We hope that by helping the homeless at Tafel Deutschland e.V. and Berliner Obdachlosenhilfe e.V., we can take a step towards our goal.
Perhaps we can bring a nicer Christmas season to some people, especially those who are currently having a particularly hard time, especially considering the pandemic as an additional burden.
