In Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, there was a funny companion who literally adored the player. This NPC is returning with the new expansion Blackwood to The Elder Scrolls Online.
What kind of NPC is this? The Adoring Fan was a companion in Oblivion that you could earn by achieving the title “Grand Champion” in the Arena.
Although this fan was only somewhat useful as a helper, he won over players with his funny dialogues, where he adored the player and offered to do anything for them:
Yes, oh great and mighty Champion? Is there anything you need? Can I carry your weapon? Polish your boots? A back massage, perhaps?

What about Blackwood? With the new expansion Blackwood, players will dive back into the content of Oblivion in ESO. The area of Dark Forest will be explored, and Daedric Prince Mehrunes Dagon plays a role in the story.
The Adoring Fan also returns with the expansion. Or rather, his great-great-great-grandfather, considering Blackwood takes place about 900 years before Oblivion.
“I can put myself in danger so you can save me”
How does the Fan appear in Blackwood? In ESO, the NPC is named “The Adoring Admirer” and he appears at various locations on the map. And this time, he also adores the player again.
Upon the first meeting, the admirer is thrilled to have met you at all. He refers to the player as “Slayer of Legends” and even wants to deliberately put himself in danger so you can save him.
The more often you meet him, the bigger the problems he finds himself in.
There is even an achievement that requires you to find the admirer 4 times on the map. It is called “Most Admired” and awards 10 achievement points.

- One is Ylahizu the Magnificent, who shows you a magic trick every time you meet him
- Roslynne can also be encountered multiple times in the area and offers a new hint about a treasure that can be found in Blackwood each time
Moreover, there are small Easter eggs in the area of Dark Forest and throughout the story that hint towards TES IV: Oblivion. So anyone who has played the single player will definitely have fun.
