The Elder Scrolls Online is getting the new expansion Greymoore in May. The developers have released a gameplay video that primarily appeals to fans of Skyrim.
What does the video show? The developers from Zenimax have released a large gameplay trailer for the upcoming expansion Greymoore. In it, you will see over 5 minutes of various gameplay from the fourth major ESO expansion.
Gameplay trailer for Greymoore focuses on Skyrim nostalgia
These are the highlights of the video: Particularly striking is the strong reference to Skyrim in the gameplay trailer. Among other things, the following content strongly reminds of the last Elder Scrolls title:
- The journeys through ancient burial mounds full of Draugr
- The use of the optional first-person perspective in ESO
- The snowy expanses of Skyrim
- The city of Solitude
Additionally, there are further contents that are new in Greymoore. You will see among other things:
- Dark fortresses of vampires
- The new vampire foes
- Mean witches with willow masks
- A Gramsorm, which are the new open-world events in Greymoore
How are fans reacting? The strong Skyrim feeling gives many players a pleasant nostalgia. In the comments on YouTube, fans are excited:
- “Damn, I love this video. It hypes me even more than the trailers. I’m soaking in the great atmosphere.”
- “It just looks like Skyrim!”
- “It really looks like Skyrim without mods”
Even in our editorial office, the reactions were clear: “It really looks like multiplayer vanilla Skyrim,” said among others my colleague Maik Schneider. It seems that Zenimax’s strategy to focus more on the popularity and gameplay of Skyrim in ESO could pay off again.
And that could be worthwhile. ESO has just set a new record for player numbers on Steam. You also have the chance to play the MMORPG for free until April 14. The prologue to Greymoore is included as well.
