In the fantasy MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO), there will be a big reveal tonight on January 31. We will accompany the livestream with a ticker in German.
Today at 8 PM there will be a livestream from Zenimax on Twitch. The team from The Elder Scrolls Online will present how the next chapter of the MMORPG is going to look.
No one is wandering around completely clueless anymore. Unless The Elder Scrolls Online pulls a total shocker rabbit out of the hat, the direction is pretty clear: It’s heading to Vvardenfell, the volcanic island known from TES 3: Morrowind. Data miners point this out and so do the last teasers.
We’re unveiling the next chapter of #ESO on January 31 at 11AM PST / 7PM GMT. Don’t miss it! https://t.co/oN43hHoC2I pic.twitter.com/JeFZQvI75q

But let’s pretend we know nothing and let ourselves be surprised about what will be revealed tonight.
We will be there with a fun live ticker in German at Mein MMO when it starts later. We sometimes do this for special occasions – it has been the case for significant announcements for games like WoW, Guild Wars 2, or Destiny in the past. And today, The Elder Scrolls Online will also enjoy this.
So if you want to know what ESO is planning and what will be talked about, this is the right place for you. We will embed the livestream here and provide a German ticker with what is discussed.
We have embedded a recording of the stream here:
19:10: Let’s start the evening with the news that Creative Director Rich Lambert will be wearing pants. Proper pants that go down to the ankles. Lambert is known for his penchant for shorts. But in celebration of the day: Pants. ESO shares this on Twitter.
19:15: My favorite in the ESO team is Eric Wrobel, the Lead Combat Designer. He looks like Stifler from the American Pie series and kind of acts like him too. He brings a very interesting, anarchic energy to the streams. Like a mix between a bouncy ball and an enthusiastic young dog. But we probably won’t see him tonight. If Lambert wears pants, Zenimax is going serious.
19:23: Naturally, as with every big reveal, leaks are circulating. A few hours ago, an English-language site already reported what’s about to come – but without images or videos. One was embedded, but it didn’t work. The news has since disappeared from the internet. And since we’ll officially hear it in half an hour – let’s move on.
19:30: I think the last big reveals have all been spoiled. With Overwatch a promotional ad went live too early. With Guild Wars 2 a gaming site tweeted it out. With Destiny someone accidentally left promo material lying around where it got photographed. And with WoW: Legion, the pre-order page was already online, even though the announcement hadn’t been made yet.
19:45: A quarter of an hour left. The Twitch chat is pretty peaceful compared to other games. The community managers said good day, and now everyone is eagerly waiting to see what Zenimax has to reveal.
19:57: It’s about to start. To get ahead of it – we have already prepared a lot. One of our authors was in the USA at Zenimax and learned what the big reveal is and what it brings. However, he swore every oath not to tell anyone. We will publish big articles with the main updates after the stream, past midnight.
The stream begins – Morrowind confirmed, new class announced
20:00: Matt Firor gives a pre-recorded recap of ESO. Highlights like Thieves Guild, One Tamriel, and Housing in a nutshell. The next chapter is supposed to be bigger and more epic than anything before.
20:02: New trailer! A spectacular battle between a Morag Tong, a two-handed fighter and a black bear with a horde of constructs. Chat goes wild, shouting “Warden! Warden!”
20:05: Morrowind confirmed. Big title screen. June 6 – 2017. That’s the release date. Here’s the trailer:
20:07: Vvardenfell is supposed to be the largest new zone in ESO. A new class called Warden will be introduced, which is a pet class. Three specs: Defensive ice magic, nature mage, and a pet spec. The bear from the trailer will then serve as the ultimate.
20:11: Morrowind will be open to everyone. New players are supposed to receive a tutorial, a new starter zone, and a new adventure. Thanks to One Tamriel, it will become an addon for everyone.
Battlegrounds are coming to The Elder Scrolls Online
20:13: Battlegrounds are coming for PvP – 4vs4vs4. So small-scale, but still three factions are involved.
20:14: As a new crafting option, equipment can be converted to the Morag Tong style.
20:15: Existing players can purchase access to Morrowind for “40 mice” – which will probably be 40€. There are also digital and physical collector’s editions – including the base game. It is quite clear that the expansion invites old TES fans to join Tamriel – for the 15th anniversary of Morrowind.
20:18: The Morang Tong assassin Naryu will serve as a guide for the player. The mission is to assist the demigod Vivec in resisting a new daedric threat. Morrowind is not necessarily supposed to resemble classic fantasy, but to integrate new alien influences into the game.
20:20: A new 12-player raid (trial) called Halls of Fabrication is planned.

20:22: Morrowind is supposed to bring back “old TES fans” who played it 15 years ago and still love it. But it also aims to introduce the “Skyrim generation” to Morrowind. They might not even know about it.
Vvardenfell is to offer a new adventure for newcomers and experienced players
20:24: In Vvardenfell, there will also be new houses. Morrowind is released simultaneously and worldwide on June 6. Zenimax is tweeting like crazy during the stream. A lot of information is currently being shared.
20:25: Battlegrounds are inspired by shooter modes. There’s Death Match and Capture-the-Flag. Game duration is about 15 minutes. Factions don’t matter – friends should be able to play with each other, regardless of alliance affiliation. Players compete as teams, not for their realms. There will also be leaderboards – more like arenas, not necessarily like battlegrounds in the MMORPG sense.
20:28: Content of the physical collector’s edition presented. “This is the assassin’s diary.” – “Oh, that’s fantastic!”
20:30: It’s already over. If you know ESO streams normally, this is extremely compact this time. They show the trailer again. Approximately 42,000 people are watching on Twitch at the end. Compact, interesting stream with a lot of information. As previously announced: We will soon have a lot more on The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind.
