The MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online has received 36 updates by now. With each new dungeon DLC (every 6 months) new monster sets are introduced as well. We at MeinMMO show you which monster sets are currently available with Update 36 Firesong and where you can find them.
What are monster sets? These are two-piece sets consisting of a head and shoulder piece. You get the head from dungeon final bosses. The corresponding shoulder is obtained from the Undaunted. More on that shortly.
In total, there are these categories of item sets:
- Craftable Sets (5 pieces)
- Dungeon Sets (5 pieces)
- Sets from Non-DLC Dungeons
- Sets from DLC Dungeons
- Monster Sets (2 pieces)
- Sets from Raids or Trials (5 pieces)
- Sets from Arenas (2 pieces)
- Open World Sets (5 pieces)
- Sets from the Aldmeri Dominion
- Sets from the Ebonheart Pact
- Sets from the Daggerfall Covenant
- Sets from DLC areas
- PvP Sets (5 pieces)
- PvP Sets from Cyrodiil
- PvP Sets from Battlegrounds
- PvP Sets from the Imperial City
- Mythic Items (1 piece)
In this article, we will cover all monster sets. A monster set always consists of a head and shoulder piece; there are no other parts. You obtain the head from the final boss in a dungeon when you complete the veteran difficulty mode. However, hard mode is not necessary for that.
Whether you receive a hood (light), a helmet (medium), or a spaulder (heavy) is random.
You obtain the corresponding shoulder from the associated quest giver of the Undaunted. You will find the total of 3 quest givers for dungeon quests in the Undaunted Enclave. The enclave is located in the capital city of the respective alliance: Daggerfall (Deshaan, Ebonheart Pact), Wayrest (Stormhaven, Daggerfall Covenant), and Elden Root (Glenumbra, Aldmeri Dominion).

To obtain the shoulders, you need a special currency: Keys of the Undaunted. You receive these upon completing a dungeon quest from the Undaunted. Depending on the difficulty level, you will receive a different number of keys:
- normal / veteran difficulty mode = 1 key
- veteran difficulty mode with hard mode = 2 keys
If you want to earn particularly many keys, it is best to complete the two quests for Non-DLC dungeons with as many characters as possible. The DLC dungeons take significantly more time and are sometimes considerably more difficult.
