In the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online, the farming fever has broken out. The focus is on a new Mythic item that all players seem to want right now. The competition for the farm spots is correspondingly high.
What kind of item is it? The “Harpooner’s Watkilt” is a Mythic item that you can earn since the release of the Blackwood expansion. It is a medium armor leg piece that has a strong effect:
- When you deal direct damage, you gain up to 10 Hunter’s Focus stacks for 1 minute
- Each stack of Hunter’s Focus increases crit chance by 125 and crit damage by 1%
- However, you lose 5 stacks when you take direct damage
The item is very powerful for DDs, who however cannot take damage themselves. This usually happens mainly in dungeons and trials.
What is the problem with the item? The new Mythic item is only available through the Antiquities system from Greymoor. To do this, you need to find various clues.
But to get these clues, you have to loot certain things or defeat enemies and also need drop luck. Since Blackwood is still a fresh expansion, many players are currently farming. And this leads to real disputes over farm spots.
How do you get the Harpooner’s Watkilt? First, you need the Blackwood expansion for the new area and Greymoor for the Antiquities system. A detailed guide on this has been created by MeinMMO author MiezeMelli:
New Mythic Item is incredibly strong – This is how you get the “Harpooner’s Watkilt”.
Players are fighting over farm spots in ESO
What is currently happening in ESO? It feels like all players in ESO are currently hunting for the Mythic item. Therefore, players are camping en masse at bosses, spawn points of mobs or at gathering materials such as water hyacinths.
Although you don’t always see a lot of players all in one place, since there are various farm spots in different areas, overall, many players are on the hunt for the item.
This can lead to you having to farm for hours or even days to get all the clues.

In addition, things often get heated in the respective chats:
- In the general zone chat, there is a lot of discussion about the new item, but also cursing and flaming
- In the say or whisper chat, you could even get insulted when you appear at another player’s farm spot.
Our ESO expert MiezeMelli reported that she has never experienced such a crowd at the farm spots, not even at the launch of Greymoor and the introduction of Mythic items.
Have you checked out the Harpooner’s Watkilt yet? And will you be farming the Mythic item? Let us know.
A cool new feature from Blackwood are the Oblivion portals. And they have been very well received by us: ESO brings the new Oblivion portals with Blackwood – Here’s what makes them so much better than Gramstorms and Anchor events.
