The Elder Scrolls Online will soon receive the new expansion Greymoor. Recently, there was a new exclusive teaser showing surprising new details about the story and your antagonist in the new ESO chapter.
What does the teaser show? Greymoor will be released for PC on May 26, 2020 and to really hype things up, the developers at ZeniMax have already provided us with an exclusive teaser for the big intro cinematic of Greymoor here at MeinMMO.
In it, you see an expedition of the grim Nords as they venture further into the territory of the Vampires after their first battle with them from the first Greymoor cinematic. There, they find a place full of strange, roughly humanoid “vessels” in an underground facility.
It seems that the warriors are unimpressed, as they nonchalantly stomp through the scene. But just as they are about to leave the room, the “vessels” suddenly start to glow, and a hairy claw breaks out of one of them. Then the teaser ends, hinting at the release of Greymoor. We should then see what happens next.
All of this is revealed in the teaser
What does this mean exactly? Those who only watch the teaser may not understand much at first. Who is out there and what is happening? However, our ESO experts from the MeinMMO editorial team have taken a closer look at the scenes and noted the following exciting details:
- The strange vessels have already been seen in the trailer for the vampires in Greymoor. They were referred to as a kind of secret legion of the vampires and appeared like a type of golem.
- The vessels are really large. They are almost as huge as Lyris’ Titan-born. That is the big woman with the hefty axe, who you also see in the teaser. And Lyris is about 2 heads taller than the average Nord!
- One of the Nord warriors kicks a kind of amphora on the ground. It is empty. From our tour with the developers through Greymoor, we know that such vessels are always at the center of the grief storms and absorb the dark energy of the storms.
- The storms are likely summoned by the dark witches from the DLC dungeon Eiskap. These witches use creepy willow branches for their rituals. And if you look closely, the “heads” of the vessels are covered with strange roots and weaving.
- The vessel in the teaser is empty, but the golem-like containers seem to glow strangely. Something inside must have been activated. It seems likely that the grief storms on the surface provide the energy for the strange vessels.
- At the end, a claw breaks out of the vessel. It is probably not golems, but really just a kind of storage object.
- The claw is hairy and looks like it belongs to a werewolf. Indeed, the developers have vaguely hinted at werewolves in the vampire armies.
- Additionally, in the previously released vampire trailer, you can see how the bloodsuckers perform gruesome experiments on innocents and somehow alter them. Could it be that the unfortunate victims end up in such a vessel to become special, vampire-serving werewolves?
After all, there was also talk of a “legion” of vampires gathering in their dark fortress Greymoor in the underground. Therefore, we suspect that besides vampires, we will also encounter their creepy werewolf monsters.
So there are both classic horror monsters in Greymoor as enemies. But what exactly breaks out of the vessel and what Lyris and her warriors will do next, we will probably only find out at the release of Greymoor. Then we can finally pummel the vampires ourselves!
