The Elder Scrolls Online will start in June with the new chapter addon Elsweyr. This will be one of the largest expansions for the game to date, and those who want to be optimally prepared should make sure to complete the following things before launch.
When does Elsweyr come out? The next chapter in ESO is Elsweyr. It will be released on June 4th for PC and a bit later for PS4 and Xbox One. Elsweyr will offer a large new region, dragons as new world bosses, and a completely new class.
Therefore, there is now quite a bit to do if you want to optimally prepare for the new gaming experience.
It’s best to start with these things right now
New addons always bring additional items and raids. And the new class of the Necromancer also wants to be equipped early. So that you are not occupied with farming and grinding for days at the start of the new addon, you should get as much done as possible beforehand. Best to start now.
Complete Sets
Why is it so important to have sets? In ESO there are tons of special item sets. The more pieces of a set you have, the better bonus effects you receive.
Depending on your role and playstyle, you will need different sets, and if you want to tackle the new dungeons and raid in hard mode as quickly as possible, good sets are essential.
You should get to work and farm the set pieces in dungeons and trials that you need for your hero. This can take quite a while, so start early.

Collect Transmutation Stones
What are Transmutation Stones? These items are extremely important because the traits on your found equipment are randomly rolled. So if you find a great item from a coveted set, but unfortunately it has useless traits for you, you can change that with 50 Transmutation Crystals.
Since you want to have good equipment for the Necromancer quickly, you should farm as many stones as possible. Unfortunately, the Transmutation Crystals have a limit of 100. ESO Plus subscribers have 200, but that’s still not enough.
How to bypass the limit: Fortunately, crystals usually come in their raw form as Transmutation Geodes. Those can be stacked indefinitely. So farm the geodes and only convert them into crystals when you need them directly.
Where can I find the stones? Transmutation Stones can be found in the following activities, among others:
- Veteran Trials of the Undaunted
- Complete a first dungeon (Normal or Veteran) through the Group Finder (daily)
- Weekly Trials Quests
- Ranked PvP Matches
- Campaign Rewards in Cyrodiil PvP
- Maw of Lorkhaj and Dragonstar Arena in Veteran mode
Farm Upgrade Materials
What are Upgrade Materials? These items are used to increase the quality of items in crafting. So you can upgrade a shabby gray item to a glorious legendary golden item with enough materials.
But the materials are in demand, and you need vast amounts of them. Especially when you start a new Necro hero and want good equipment right away.
Where do I get Upgrade Materials? There are various methods to obtain the coveted materials:
- Complete the Crafting Writs in the major cities, and you will often receive high-quality Upgrade Materials when you complete a writ.
- Deconstruct high-quality items. You’ll often get useful upgrades from there. You can farm items best in public dungeons.
- Invest skill points in the best crafting followers. With this skill, you receive free materials in the respective crafting every day. Often these include Upgrade Materials. Maximize your yield by creating multiple crafting heroes and visiting them daily for mats.
Get Resources and Ingredients
Why is it so important to equip yourself in advance? You should heed this tip as soon as possible. For effective crafting of items, buff food, and upgrades, you need a lot of material.
Especially glyphs and ingredients for potions and food are important. Yet especially at the start of a new addon, the prices for this stuff in the trading houses are very high.
Counteract this and stock up on a large supply of useful stuff right now. Ideally, you should farm materials now and obtain them by deconstructing excess items or through your crafting followers.
Get Items to Level Up Faster
Why should you level up quickly? ESO lets you play all content even without max level, but your cool skills and traits are only available at higher levels.
So if you start a new hero, preferably a Necro, you certainly want to reach the max level quickly.
How to level up faster: This goes especially quickly with a special leveling gear set. Create a set of items with the “Learning” trait. This gives you an XP bonus.
Also, make sure to stock up on scrolls for bonus XP. You can get them particularly easily and for free when you log in daily.
Every time you log in, you receive a free item, often a scroll. And if you start now, you will have a particularly large amount of free items and thus enough scrolls for the Elsweyr launch.
So you should at least check in to ESO daily for a bit. You can also take this opportunity to complete your crafting writs and accumulate materials.
