In The Elder Scrolls Online has launched the new chapter expansion Elsweyr for PC players. Find out here what you need to know about the next major chapter for ESO.
Before Elsweyr gets underway for PC players, you should read the following information we have compiled for you.
1 – What time does it start?
At what time does Elsweyr start? Since 3:00 PM, the servers are back online, you just need to download the major update for Elsweyr and Update 22.
When will Elsweyr be available on PS4 and Xbox One? Unfortunately, console players will only be able to venture into Elsweyr starting on June 4.
2 – What editions of Elsweyr are available?
What does Elsweyr cost? Elsweyr is not free; rather, you need to purchase it to travel to the land of the Khajiit and hunt dragons. There are different editions available:
- Digital Upgrade: 39.99 Euro – Expands your existing ESO with Elsweyr
- Digital Collector’s Edition Upgrade: 49.99 Euro – Here, you also get the goodies of the Collector’s Edition
- Digital Standard Edition: 59.99 Euro – If you do not have the base game or the add-ons Morrowind and Summerset, then you should buy this complete package.
- Digital Collector’s Edition: 79.99 Euro – Like the Standard Edition, only with additional goodies.
This time, there are no physical editions to purchase. You can only acquire Elsweyr digitally.
What is included in the Collector’s Editions? The Collector’s Editions each contain:
- Senche-Rath mount
- Springhare pet
- Emote pack for Khajiit
- Style: Dragonbone
- Archaic Knowledge Tablets as a souvenir item
3 – How to reach the new area
How do I get to Elsweyr? To optimally start the story of Elsweyr, you can start the prologue quest since March 25, 2019. You start this quest by purchasing the “Sealed Imperial Summons” in the Crown Store under the “Quests” tab.
This is free and does not require the purchase or pre-ordering of Elsweyr or other DLCs.
The prologue quest will optimally guide you into the story of Elsweyr, the dragons, and the imperial occupation of the lands of the Khajiit. Once Elsweyr is here, you can get there as follows:
- Use the way shrine in Krempen by teleporting there
- Use the gate in the northeast of Grathwood
- Use the gate in the northeast of the Harvests
- Teleport to a friend who is already in Elsweyr
From which level can I go to Elsweyr? It doesn’t matter. Like all regions in ESO, Elsweyr is part of One Tamriel. This means you can explore every area at any level. The game scales your level according to the area.
Therefore, you can explore the new land as a fresh level 1 hero just as well as a high-end veteran with hundreds of Champion Points.
Can I also start fresh with a new hero in Elsweyr? That works smoothly too. If you create a new hero, he or she will automatically start in Elsweyr and experience the tutorial there.
4 – What you need to know about the new class Necromancer
Can I play the Necromancer right away? You can also create a new character as a Necromancer immediately. However, you need to have purchased Elsweyr for this. Without the expansion, the Necro is not available.
Can I transform my main character into a Necromancer? Unfortunately not, your existing heroes cannot change their class retroactively. Zenimax will likely offer such a feature at some point.
As long as this is not the case, you will have to level up a new character as a Necro.
5 – The most important contents of Elsweyr
What is new in Elsweyr? Like all ESO expansions, Elsweyr brings a lot of story and new quests and challenges. The following features are new to the game:
- Guild Finder Feature: This feature is available to every player, even if you do not buy Elsweyr. In short, this new feature allows you to actively promote your guild and find guilds that meet your requirements.
- Dragons as World Events: The base game had anchors and in Summerset, geysers were available as world events. In Elsweyr, it’s all a bit cooler, because dragons fly around and cause chaos in the land. If you catch such a creature, you should have a few friends with you and challenge the beast. An epic battle with cool loot awaits.
- New Raid Sunspire: A highlight for players on the test server was the new raid Sunspire. Here you can expect a large instance, where several unique dragon bosses await. The raid offers a complete instance with plenty of content and new, unique loot.
