In the online shooter Escape from Tarkov, the two factions BEAR and USEC are actually at war. However, those who have no interest in this conflict simply become a lawless Scavenger.
The option to play as a Scavenger will be introduced in the next alpha patch. The Scavengers or Scavs are bandits and looters. Everyone fights for themselves and is essentially on their own. They roam the streets of Tarkov, always searching for interesting items that they can sell later. In doing so, the Scavs also step over corpses and would kill for any valuable item.
Scavengers only fight for themselves
According to the developers, the gameplay of Escape from Tarkov changes when playing as a Scav. One is no longer focused on preserving their group and faction, but acts ruthlessly and fights only for themselves. However, this also means that Scavs cannot rely on anyone. Not even on other Scavengers.
There is no group cohesion, as is the case with BEAR and USEC. Scavs also exist in the game world as NPCs and repeatedly disrupt the activities of the two factions. Thus, they become a nuisance that stands in the way of their own goals.
Still no date for the beta
Escape from Tarkov is currently still in alpha phase. The fans are eagerly waiting for the start of the beta, which should happen at any time. However, there is still no exact date.
In the meantime, the developers have released a new video of the online shooter, showing how a Scavenger operates in the game world.
