Square Enix, developer of the MMORPG Final Fantasy 14, have announced the official launch of the upcoming sandbox MMO Boundless for September. The game will be released for PC (Steam) and PS4.
Build a Colony in the Cosmos
What is Boundless? Boundless takes you into the future, where you set out to colonize other planets. Together with other players, you will face many challenges. These include:
- Build a colony yourself or join a settlement
- Expand your settlement into the capital of the world
- Craft hundreds of items, including buildings, tools, weapons, food, and much more. To gather resources, explore the world and hunt wild creatures
- Upgrade your hero through skills and a skill tree. By completing events and achieving goals, you will earn EXP
- Build a portal between worlds to travel to them. There you will find new resources and creatures
- Trade with other players, build your own shop, and supply other players with everything they need
- You are responsible for how life in your colony unfolds. You will even have to deal with politics
Release is coming soon. On September 11, you can discover how Boundless plays on PC and PS4. On that day, the sandbox MMO will officially launch.
Crossplay and Buy2Play. Boundless will be released as a Buy2Play game, and there is no need to pay a monthly subscription fee. The developers have also announced that crossplay between PC and PS4 is possible. Players on PC and PlayStation 4 will therefore interact together in a vast universe.
Voxel Graphics and Good Reviews. Boundless uses voxel graphics, which allow you to alter worlds and freely construct buildings, similar to Minecraft. The reviews of the early access version on Steam are “mostly positive.” The building and community interaction are said to be a lot of fun.
