The MMORPG Chronicles of Elyria has not yet been released, but fans are already having fun in a community event.
That you do not necessarily need the game itself to have fun in Chronicles of Elyria has been proven by the community event “Searing Plague”. In this browser game, it was possible to shape the world.

An Event Without MMORPG
How was it played? All fans of Chronicles of Elyria were able to participate. Those who had already supported the game with a founder package were “pure,” while the others were afflicted by a plague.
Players could now create seals of purity or plague by creating links and sending them to others. In the end, the site that generated the most seals should win. The “pure” players won. This means that all participants in the event received a resistance to the plague for one of their characters in the game. This resistance can also be inherited by offspring. Additionally, there were some in-game items.
Searing Plague was a Success
The Event was well received: Players were excited to be able to participate in this community event. Although, of course, buying a founder package and the call to engage in the game and in the in-game shop played a significant role.
For many, Chronicles of Elyria is also one of the big hopes for the MMO genre despite the somewhat sluggish development process, alongside Ashes of Creation. And finally being able to be somehow involved in the game – even if it’s just through a browser event – motivates the players.
Therefore, many also participated in this event:
- Highest number of purity seals carried by a single player in their inventory: More than 4,000
- New forum users during the event: 6,920
- New Discord registrations during the event: 1,902
- Number of trade links: 520,270
- Number of players cured from the plague who received a founder package: 3,161
- Purity seals transmitted: 248,746
- Plague traits transmitted: 44,534
- Actions by “pure” players: 572,895
- Actions by plague players: 76,205
Now that the event is over, the wait for Alpha 1 of Chronicles of Elyria is back on the agenda.
