At the Microsoft press conference, a first trailer for Elden Ring, the new game from FromSoftware, the developers of the “Dark Souls” series. George R.R. Martin, the author of the “Game of Thrones” book series, also worked on the game.
This is the new game from FromSoftware: Elden Ring will be a new fantasy action RPG with an open world, coming from the creators of Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro.
As previously speculated in leaks, George R. R. Martin is collaborating in a supportive role on the story and game world of the game. Martin is known as the author of the book series “A Song of Ice and Fire”, on which the “Game of Thrones” series is based.
When is Elden Ring supposed to be released? Unfortunately, the trailer does not reveal a release date. Titles like Dark Souls (May 24), Bloodborne (March 27), or Sekiro (March 22) have always been released in spring. It is possible that Elden Ring aims for a similar time frame. However, there has been no official statement regarding this yet.

What is Elden Ring about? This is not yet known. The trailer only shows some dark scenes that at least suggest the direction it is heading. It seems it will have a rather dark fantasy setting.
The previous leaks have mentioned a large open world. Danger lurks around every corner, against which players must defend themselves.
It is likely that Elden Ring will follow a similar path as Dark Souls and Bloodborne. These are known for their challenging difficulty.

So far, not much is known about the setting. However, it is said to have a Celtic influence.
On which platforms will Elden Ring be released? The action RPG will be released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. More information will follow.
