The beta of Fallout 76 has started on Xbox One. First players were able to explore the vast world of the online RPG. Here’s how the community reacts before and after the first beta phase.
The beta period of Fallout 76 has officially begun. In the first week, it is exclusively on Xbox One. PS4 and PC players have to wait until October 30.
However, this does not cause any resentment among the players. On Reddit, Xbox players announce that they will gather as much information as possible for the other platforms. They are already actively exchanging their first impressions.

Excitement before the beta
Nowadays, discussions between Xbox, PC, and PS4 players are common. With Fallout 76, however, it seems to be different, even though the beta started on Xbox a week early.
How does this show? On Reddit, many fans express positive sentiments about the current atmosphere in the community. Instead of complaining about the exclusivity deal with Xbox players, most PC and PS4 players wish them good luck in exploring. Thanks to the beta, there is a kind of excitement.
So writes vekynor:
I think it’s great how the B.E.T.A brings the community together. I’ve never seen PC and PS4 players be so positive and cheer for Xbox players. The day of redemption should really be celebrated.

This is how they want to reciprocate: Xbox players are now calling for gathering as much information as possible for the other platforms so that they can start directly prepared from the 30th.
A recent call has been made by the user heretic01 on Reddit:
Today is the day! Post as much content as possible, so our PS4 and PC brothers can have the best possible start!
Of course, there are other corners of the internet where fans continue to annoy each other due to the platform. Nevertheless, it is a remarkable reaction.
The positive atmosphere is also surprising because Fallout 76 has had a hard time with the community from the beginning and has been constantly criticized. But what do they say after the first playable hours of the beta?

The beta leaves a mixed impression on fans
When reading through the posts on Reddit, there are many different perspectives on the beta.
This was well received
- The game world and atmosphere are particularly praised and invite exploration
- The audio logs, notes, and terminals tell many stories and are well written
- Graphics, sound, and gameplay have improved compared to Fallout 4
- Hardly anyone had problems with other players
- The servers ran consistently stable for most
- The building of a C.A.M.P works well
ThatGuyFromBRITAIN reports on his impressions:
It’s not perfect, but it’s far better than I expected. But my expectations were quite low. The world is fantastic, big enough to explore and get lost in, but dense enough that there is always something waiting around the next corner. It feels much more dynamic than Fallout 4 […].

Overall, many seem to be pleasantly surprised.
This was not so well received
But not everything is peachy keen. There were some problems and criticisms as well.
- The absence of human NPCs proves to be a problem for some, and exploration became boring for some after a while
- The audio logs and terminals are cool, but some fans got annoyed by them after a while
- Fallout 76 is said to be too easy. One can easily kill monsters that are far higher level than oneself
- Not everyone could log in at the start of the beta phase
- PvP is much too optional and unnecessary in its form
Talers’ username fears:
The game was a lot of fun with friends, exploring and finding better weapons was fantastic. However, I fear that the game might become dull after completing the story. The quests were already very boring and tedious.

Others praise the side quests. Overall, Fallout 76 is said to offer over 150 hours of side content.
It is still too early to make a complete assessment of the mood. Currently, the mood is definitely better than a few months ago.
Before that, there will be more beta phases, and starting October 30, all vault dwellers can finally participate in the rebuilding of Appalachia, the world of Fallout 76.
Were you able to play for a few hours? If so, what are your impressions?
