Epic Games warns Fortnite players now to simply install the new iOS 14 update. This could delete Fortnite from iOS devices if the wrong button is pressed. Apple would then prevent the game from being reinstalled.
This is the warning: Yesterday, Fortnite tweeted through their channel “Fortnite Status”.
Fortnite players on iOS devices who upgrade to iOS 14 may lose access to Fortnite.
If the question is accepted: “Temporarily uninstall apps to install software updates?”, this can lead to Fortnite being deleted.
Fortnite cannot be reinstalled because Apple prevents users from doing so.

How to prevent Fortnite from being deleted when updating to iOS 14
What should players do now? Epic also provides instructions on how to install the update without jeopardizing Fortnite. If the question arises whether apps should be temporarily uninstalled, one should cancel.
Then, one should go to the “iPhone” storage via “Settings -> General -> iPhone Storage”, where apps can be deleted to create enough space.
This way the new update will be installed without asking whether apps should be temporarily uninstalled.
Once again, Fortnite is safe, and there is no need to buy an old iPhone for €900 on eBay that still has Fortnite installed. Phew.
What it’s about: This is another chapter in Epic’s epic battle against Apple. We have reported on this dispute several times and explained in detail why the attack with the “1984” ad hit so closely.
Epic wants to make it clear that only Apple stands in the way of the Fortnite fun on iOS devices. Apple sees it differently: They say Epic just needs to return to the status quo of the past, and everything could be good again.
Both companies are currently suing each other.

The battle between Epic and Apple has been going on for several weeks now. Epic accuses Apple of building a monopoly and taking too much money from the studios. Epic would be fighting for freedom here, while Apple has become the faceless and powerful corporation against which they used to stand.
Apple, in turn, portrays Epic as breach of contract and greedy. They simply did not want to pay for the great service that Apple provides. The lawsuit is said to be purely a PR move, it has been said recently:
Apple attacks Epic sharply: lawsuit only serves as PR for struggling Fortnite
