The Creative Director of Fortnite has hidden some hints in a video conference that are supposed to indicate future collaborations. It seems that we might see items from the universes of G.I. Joe and Star Trek in the game.
What kind of conference was that? Donald Mustard, the Creative Director of Fortnite, was invited as a guest to a video conference with video game journalist Geoff Keighley. For this, he turned on his webcam and prepared a little hide-and-seek game for the viewers.
Indeed, there were hints hidden all around the room that are supposed to indicate future content, as Donald Mustard says on Twitter. Geoff Keighley then commented with a picture showing Mustard’s room.
G.I. Joe and Star Trek in Fortnite?
After it became clear that Donald Mustard had intentionally placed these hints, players immediately began to search for them and wanted to find out what was behind it.
Anyone who knows the Creative Director knows that he likes to hide little hints related to Fortnite. At the end of Season 1 – Chapter 2, he changed his location on Twitter to the bunker in Fortnite. Players suspected back then that the bunker would be opened by the end of the season.
More Sci-Fi after Star Wars?
This was found: For this hint, players had to look very closely because it is located far in the background and is not clearly visible. It refers to the posters on the back wall.
It is not clear what exactly is depicted. However, one player compared one of them to a Star Trek poster and posted the original under Donald Mustard’s Twitter post with the words “nice Star Trek poster”:
Although the images share some similarities, it is not clearly recognizable whether it is really Star Trek. However, the possibility does not seem far-fetched, as Fortnite had previously had a major sci-fi collaboration with Star Wars.
Not only could players unlock items and skins there, but they also experienced a whole live event showcasing a premiere of the new Star Wars film.
Figure points to collaboration with G.I. Joe
Another hint discovered: One player paid closer attention to the background and found a figure of Snake Eyes from G.I. Joe. On reddit, he shared an image that shows it more clearly:
So it could be that at some point we can expect a collaboration with the heroes or only with Snake Eyes from the “G.I. Joe” film series. However, it is not known how and when this could happen.
That Fortnite is open to such collaborations is nothing new. There have already been several skins, items, and modes that resulted from this. In Season 4 – Chapter 2, players can experience an entire season dedicated solely to Marvel superheroes. Even the Battle Pass is filled with skins and items from the Marvel universe. It remains exciting to see what comes next.
