Epic has been trying to establish its own store as a competitor to Steam for a few years now. To achieve this, they have relied on exclusive titles. In the next 2 years, several exclusives are set to come, as Epic has now revealed.
What has Epic announced? In a statement to the PCGames website, an Epic employee stated that “in the next 2 years, more exclusive titles will be added to the offering than have been released so far.”
Since the launch of the Epic Store, there have been according to GameStar over 100 titles that have either been temporarily or even permanently exclusive to the shop. Among these were games like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Borderlands 3, or Metro: Exodus.
This statement essentially means that over 100 more exclusive titles are planned. 21 of these titles are already known. We will introduce them briefly in the article.

Why is Epic doing this at all? Epic wants, according to its own statement, to destroy Steam’s monopoly. The platform has become an important place for game releases but takes 30% of the revenue in return.
In early 2019, Epic CEO Tim Sweeney declared that they would forgo exclusive deals if Steam gave developers more of their earnings. They would even publish their own games on Steam then.
But the fight against Steam is progressing slowly. Recently, Epic also had to endure a defeat. The Game of the Year 2020 on Steam is Red Dead Redemption 2, a title for which Epic previously held the exclusive rights, but which performed better on Steam despite delays.
21 titles that will probably be exclusive to the Epic Store
So far, 21 titles are known that are expected to be exclusive to the Epic Store. Exclusive often means, however, that they simply won’t come to Steam. Some of these titles are available for consoles and some will also appear in proprietary shops like the Ubistore. Additionally, some titles have limited-time exclusivity.
The following multiplayer titles are coming to the Epic Store:
- Chivalry 2 – A medieval PvP game

- Monkey Barrels – A shooter with monkeys and a competitive mode
- Rainbow Six Quarantine – A co-op PvE shooter
- The Settlers – A real-time strategy game with optional multiplayer
- Riders Republic – An open-world MMO where you can experience extreme sports
The following single-player games are already known:
- Kena: Bridge of Spirits – An action-adventure
- Darkest Dungeon 2 – A turn-based tactics game
- Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy – A roguelike ARPG

Additionally, Epic has already announced 4 new games that they want to release or publish themselves. However, nothing is known about these yet.
