What weapons were affected? The affected weapons are the Overclocked Pulse Rifle and the Mythic Havoc Pump Shotgun. Both guns were absurdly powerful and could eliminate even the most talented players in seconds.
While many players complained about it on social media, Epic Games succeeded in its latest patch in damage control – but only weeks after they were allowed to wreak havoc.
Players had fun with the broken weapons for weeks
How broken were the weapons? Both weapons were absurdly broken. To demonstrate this, a Reddit user shared a clip showing how powerful the Overclocked Pulse Rifle was.
The broken aspect of the weapon was its secondary fire mode, which was activated when firing from the hip. This increases its fire rate and targeting and hits every target with deadly precision and little effort – just like an Aimbot. Every fight against such an exemplar ended in a brutal defeat for the opponent.
Paired with the Mythic Havoc Pump Shotgun, nothing could stop you, as the shotgun could take down any opponent with a precise headshot. Thus, both weapons enjoyed a place in the inventory of many winners, but that has changed with the latest patch.
What has the patch changed? The latest patch has put both weapons in their place in Fortnite. The following changes were made:
- The maximum headshot damage of the Mythic Havoc Pump Shotgun has been reduced.
- The accuracy and fire rate while hip-firing the Mythic Overclocked Pulse Rifle have been reduced.
