In Pokémon GO the development event is currently running and many new spawns can be found. We will show you how to make the most of the event.
How long does the event last?This event lasts exactly one week. It ends next Thursday, December 12th at 10 PM. Until then, you can still grab the bonuses.
There is a bonus here that is worth it for almost all players. There are rare evolution items, many potential Shinies, and strong Pokémon.
These Pokémon you should hunt during the event
Which monsters are worth it?The list of event spawns is long. In total, you will find 26 Pokémon increased during the event period. You should particularly pay attention to the following monsters:
- Sniebel
- Sichlor
- Elektek
- Dragonir
- Georok
- Alpollo
- Magnetilo
- Quiekel
They all have evolutions that become incredibly strong. Especially for beginners or returnees, the candies from these Pokémon are important.
So collect as many candies as possible from them and build strong teams that you can use as counters against raid bosses or Team GO Rocket.
This Shiny hunt is worth it: Some of the Shinies are significantly more common than others. These include Onix, Sichlor, Skorgla, and Sniebel. They all have a higher Shiny chance.
If you don’t have a Shiny yet, you might get lucky in this event. The rate is about 1 in 50 to 1 in 150. Normal Shinies have a rate of 1 in 450.
In addition to the more common Shinies, there are also some Pokémon that are not encountered very often. These include Sonnkern, Schneppke, Burmy, and Magnetilo. So if you’re still looking for Shinies here, you should take the opportunity. You can rarely find these Pokémon outside of events.
These bonuses you should take advantage of
Get the Unova Stone:The event revolves around evolution items. You should take advantage of this opportunity and secure especially the rare Unova Stone.
To do this, you need to win against rocket bosses 3 times. This can be time-consuming, but it is worth it. Ideally, you should already have 3 of these quests to get 3 Unova Stones at once upon completion.
Another alternative to get the Unova Stone is raids. It is also currently available as a reward in the event. Many raids are worth it.
The Unova Stone helps Litwick evolve into Chandelure. This is one of the best attackers for ghost and fire types. Here, multiple copies are worth it.
This is how you can get other evolution items:All other items are also available from field research. So secure the items that you are still missing. You probably won’t have the opportunity to acquire evolution items this quickly again in the near future.
This is how you can level up quickly: Currently, there is double the amount of XP for evolving Pokémon. It is definitely worth using a lucky egg for half an hour to evolve Pokémon. If you play well, you can easily get 140,000 XP.
This is especially worth it if you don’t have many friends with whom you can level up. Those provide the most XP.

Make use of lure modules: In the event, all lure modules last for an hour. This is especially worthwhile with glacial, moss, and magnetic lure modules. Here, twice as many Pokémon spawn.
So feel free to light multiple modules at a spot with many PokéStops and catch many Pokémon for an hour.
