With Enlisted , Gaijin is set to release a new online shooter with a massive focus: World War II.
Last week a trailer was released, leading many to think it could be an expansion for War Thunder . However, “Enlisted” is a new project developed by the Lithuanians at “Darkfloor Software” and published by Gaijin.

Enlisted is set to launch with two campaigns: The Battle of Moscow and the Battle of Normandy. Gaijin’s Dagor Engine will be used.
The focus is clearly on World War II – it is a “Team-based MMO Shooter.” Great emphasis will be placed on historical accuracy. Matches are intended to feel not like a “sporting competition,” but like a real battle. This puts Enlisted in tune with the times – Battlefield 1 is currently enjoying great success with a similar approach.
Enlisted: The Key Points About the New MMO Shooter
Enlisted aims for a maximum player count of 120 to 150 on a map. It is set to be a first-person shooter. In terms of distribution, Enlisted plans to take an unusual route: The campaigns will be sold individually on Steam.
A release of Enlisted is planned for 2017. Prior to that, there will be a closed alpha, closed beta, and early access for founders. More information about Enlisted can be found on the game’s official website.
The Interesting Part: Fans are to be involved in the development of the game. They will help determine whether the game is released only for PC or also supports PS4 and Xbox One, and which battlefields players will be able to explore in further campaigns.
In addition to the first two campaigns, a third is planned in Tunisia featuring General Rommel.
Currently, a crowdfunding campaign is underway to help the developers achieve their ambitious goals. At 1 million US dollars, they plan to port the game to consoles.
At first glance, Enlisted not only resembles Battlefield but also the MMO shooter Escape from Tarkov. It also comes from the former Eastern Bloc and emphasizes hardcore realism.
