The popular rogue-like game Hades is now also coming to the consoles of Microsoft and Sony. The release is already in August.
This was announced: At the Microsoft-Bethesda conference of the E3 2021, it was announced that the multiple award-winning game Hades by Supergiant Games will now also be available on the Xbox. The release date was announced as August 13, 2021.
At the same time, the developer confirmed on Twitter that Hades will also be available on PlayStation consoles. Until now, the game was only available on PC and Nintendo Switch.
What is Hades? In the isometric game, you take on the role of Zagreus, the son of the god of the underworld, Hades. The young man no longer wants to stay in his father’s grim world and sets out to find his mother Persephone, who disappeared after his birth.
But that is not so easy, as his father does not want to let him escape and throws the creatures of the underworld in his path. Every time Zagreus dies on his journey, he reappears in his father’s palace and has to start the journey over again.
The gameplay:
- Hades is a “rogue-like” game, where the areas are procedurally generated.
- This means that the rooms, the enemies in them, and the rewards and items are all random.
- No run will go the same way as the previous one.
- While playing, you have the choice between different weapons that you can upgrade during and between runs.
- Additionally, the other gods of the Greek pantheon assist you in your escape from the underworld. They give you gifts in the form of new abilities.

These awards were won by Hades: After its release in 2020, Hades took the gaming community by storm. The game received “extremely positive” ratings on Steam with a whopping 98% good reviews out of over 130,000 reviews. On Metacritic, it received a metascore of 93.
At the same time, Hades won 17 different awards at various awards. Here are some of them:
