Employee deletes emails and the Teams app for overtime
The employee reported, according to 3djuegos.com, that his boss forced him to return to the office from one day to the next. For this reason, he deleted his email and Teams app from his phone. This way, he was no longer reachable outside of work hours.
With satisfaction, he explained that his boss recently complained about why he hadn’t answered the phone. And he replied:
My boss told me that under no circumstances am I allowed to work from home, even during a snowstorm like this one. Even though I work as an IT specialist and can do everything remotely, I should be in the office. So I deleted Teams and my emails from my phone and am no longer reachable outside of work hours.
My boss tried to call me last night on an urgent matter but couldn’t reach me, so today he asked me why, and I explained to him the same thing he told me: under no circumstances can I work from home.
Trick also protects against secret overtime
This way, the employee turned the tables and showed his boss what it means that he “is not allowed to work from home under any circumstances.” We do not know how the boss reacted to his answer.
And the “trick” has another advantage: it protects the employee from accumulating overtime at home when he is no longer in the office.
