The MMORPG Elyon (previously A:IR) has now announced its release date for Korea. In line with this, a new trailer featuring spectacular battles was released. It was emphasized again that the game is definitely coming to the West.
What is Elyon? The new action MMORPG is being developed by the studio Bluehole. They have already produced games like TERA and PUBG. The role-playing game focuses on many action-packed battles without tab targeting and PvP.
For the game, the developers are said to have oriented themselves towards the West and avoided annoying aspects like high grind. Additionally, there is a glider mechanic and some steampunk elements, which still originate from the concept of Ascent: Infinite Realm. That was the initial name of the MMORPG before it was heavily revised.
What’s new? The developers have announced the release date in Korea. It is set to launch on December 10, surprisingly as a Buy2Play title. It was originally announced as free-to-play.
The accompanying new trailer particularly focuses on the action-packed battles. Huge bosses in the form of armored knights, gigantic machines, dragons, or earth elementals are showcased.
Visually, much indicates a spectacular display of effects and fast-paced battles. This was also shown in the first videos from the beta in Korea.
Release in the West is set – But when?
What do we know so far? Elyon is definitely coming to the West. The publisher for that is already confirmed. Kakao Games will handle the distribution for us. They are also responsible for publishing Black Desert in Europe and North America.
However, there is still no concrete date announced for this. Officially, it only states that the release in the West is planned for 2021.
Who is Elyon interesting for?
What makes the game special? Elyon focuses on a fast and action-packed combat system. Although there is an open world and plenty of PvE quests, the MMORPG’s focus is clearly on PvP.
The two factions of the game constantly battle each other, and the game offers large-scale battles for fortresses, taking place in a designated area. The guilds are meant to be the focus, as they can join one of the factions.
So anyone looking for a new PvP game can look forward to Elyon as a new alternative.
