The MMORPG Elyon (formerly A:IR) has now entered a Closed Beta in South Korea. As there is no NDA, many videos have already surfaced showcasing the interesting and fast-paced gameplay.
What is Elyon? The MMORPG offers you fairly classic MMORPG elements, although this was not always the plan. Under the former name AIR: Ascent Infinite Realm, the focus was primarily on aerial battles.
In the new version, you now traverse a large, beautiful fantasy world, engaging in fast-paced, action-packed battles against monsters and completing quests. PvP also plays a significant role. Elyon certainly evokes the impression of TERA 2.
What is new? On July 25, the Closed Beta of the MMORPG started in South Korea. There is no NDA; players are allowed to share their experiences and show videos. And there are now quite a number of these videos that convey a good impression of the online role-playing game.
What is particularly interesting about the videos? Three things stand out in particular.
- The character editor offers a lot of customization options. You can really assemble the hero you envision. The editor strongly resembles the one from the MMORPG Black Desert Online.
- Graphically, Elyon can absolutely convince. Especially the level of detail in the characters is impressive, as can be seen in the video about the character editor.
- The game indeed looks like TERA 2. The overall gameplay reminds one of TERA, only that the battles are even faster and more action-packed. The confrontations are spectacular, and a true fireworks display of effects is provided.
How is the shown material being received? Players are already discussing what can be seen from the Closed Beta of Elyon. We summarize a few voices from the community for you:
- PavorNocturnus says on YouTube: “This game has so much potential. The combat is good, the graphics are good, the average content is good. I was so bored of cash grab MMOs. I hope it will come to the West this year.”
- CustoMecha writes: “Reminds me of a mix of Lineage 2 and Black Desert.”
- Moodopia-TV is not impressed: “Why does it look almost exactly like BDO, Bless, Tera… action combat… flashy animations… immersion-breaking items like pink cars etc. Zero story… zero story… zero anything aside from flashy animations/graphics and combat. This is just… wrong! God save us all.”
When will Elyon be released for us? There is still no release date for a European version of the MMORPG Elyon. However, the game is definitely set to be released here. Whether that will happen in 2021 is rather unlikely.
