Tom Cruise is one of the biggest movie stars in the world. Some even see him as one of the last great Hollywood actors. Not least due to his membership in Scientology, he is also often criticized.
What is the situation? Both are stars in their own leagues: Tom Cruise is currently one of the most popular actors worldwide. Especially due to his great passion and dedication to projects like the action spectacle “Top Gun 2: Maverick,” he is considered alongside directors like Christopher Nolan a savior of cinema in its classic form. However, he is best known for his involvement in the “Mission Impossible” series, whose latest installment can already be streamed.
Lisa Marie Presley, on the other hand, initially became known through her famous father, the “King” Elvis himself, before she made a name for herself as a singer. Throughout her career, she released three studio albums and a number of singles and was also charitable for the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation. Lisa Marie Presley passed away in January 2023 after a cardiac arrest.
The two met 20 years ago
Both Cruise and Presley are or were members of Scientology. The movement is discussed very critically internationally. In Germany, it has been monitored by the Constitutional Protection Agency since 1997, with a report from 2016 stating:

Nevertheless, several renowned stars are still members of Scientology today, some of whom do not make it a secret. Just like Lisa Marie Presley or Tom Cruise.
In an interview shortly before her death, Presley spoke about a meeting with Cruise that took place about twenty years ago. Although she did not explain what exactly happened at the meeting, she drew an unmistakable conclusion:
I really hate Tom. I met him 20 years ago. I said that I never want to be in a room with him again.

So there must have been a clash between the two stars. However, Presley got along much better with John Travolta, another very well-known Scientology member. It was he who allegedly persuaded Lisa Marie and her mother to join the organization.
However, Presley left Scientology in 2014. She believed that her widely famous name, as well as her fortune, were being used by the organization’s leadership for self-promotion.
Even Tom Cruise seems to be a report by the Mirror indicates a member no longer as loyal. He had been absent from the British Scientology headquarters for almost three years. This circumstance led to the assumption that he was slowly distancing himself from the organization. He would not be the first. Other celebrities like Brad Pitt or Will Smith have left Scientology after years of membership.
