With Elite Dangerous Arena, you can focus solely on PvP battles in the space game.
Sometimes you don’t want to bother with traveling to other star systems, trading, or negotiating – but that’s exactly what the space online game Elite Dangerous offers. If you want to concentrate on dogfights between players, you now have the opportunity to do so. For just 6.75 euros, you can download the standalone game Elite Dangerous Arena via Steam or the Frontier store, which is all about PvP duels.
Just PvP battles
The PvP space battles focus on “Close Quarter Combat”, which are the close-range fights like gladiatorial contests held in various arenas. You can choose between the game modes Free for All, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag, which are available to you on the maps Elevate, Cluster Compound, Asterias Point, and Ice Field. For ships, you can choose either the Federal or Imperial Fighter, the Eagle or Sidewinder, which you can of course customize with specific equipment.
“Elite Dangerous: Arena is a completely new kind of multiplayer shooter that gives competitive players the chance to experience thrilling space battles and challenge players all over the world,” says Frontier CEO David Braben. “We showcase Close Quarter Combat events all around the world, and wherever it’s played, it is received incredibly well.”
Qualify for the tournament!
Developer Frontier Development will also host the Close Quarter Combat Championships tournament, in which players from Elite Dangerous: Arena and Elite Dangerous can participate, as both games are compatible with each other. In preliminary rounds taking place this spring and summer, participants for the final will be determined, which will take place at an undisclosed time at a secret location and will even be streamed live.
In the final, players will compete for a prize pool of $100,000!
