With Summerset, Elder Scrolls Online has added the functionality to gift content from the Crown Store to other players. This means that items that cost Euros can also be indirectly traded for Gold. But does this mean that players can now freely trade items from the Crown Store with other players for anything?
Player trading is generally allowed
Premium items for Gold: The short answer to this question is “No”. You are allowed to trade Crown Store content with other players. However, it is prohibited to exchange Crown items for real money or real-life items. Those who violate this can be banned. So if you want to trade that super cool skin from the Crown Store for your neighbor’s sofa, that’s not allowed. You also cannot sell that skin for €7.99 or for any other amount.
To trade Crown items with other players, you must think outside the box.
This is how trading works:
- You agree with a player on how your trade should look.
- Then you buy the Crown Store item for Crowns and gift it to the player you made the deal with.
- This player now trades with you or sends you the item/the Gold via the internal mail system.
Trading carries risks: Protect yourself from scams
Protect yourself: Because there is no direct way to trade a Crown item with another player, players who buy content in the Crown Store take a risk. After all, nothing prevents the other player from just running off with your Crown item without giving you the desired item or amount of Gold.
To prevent fraud, you should only discuss the trade in the in-game trade chat so that support can help you if you are scammed.
Can I exchange Gold for Crowns? The game does not offer a direct exchange rate from Gold to Crowns. However, you can trade with another player and thus obtain content from the Crown Store.
Can I earn Crown items? With Summerset, daily login rewards were introduced. This is also a way to obtain Crown items. Additionally, players sometimes receive Crown items for leveling up.
