In The Elder Scrolls Online (PC, PS4, Xbox One) is finally known, what the new chapter addon is called, where it is going and what the contents are. We have watched and analyzed the two trailers.
On the occasion of the new chapter “Summerset”, there is again a stunning cinematic teaser and a gameplay trailer. There are some cool details hidden in it that we don’t want to withhold from you.
Everything in the cinematic teaser
The impressive cinematic teaser looks extremely good and shows a few interesting details:
- The beautiful Summerset islands are threatened by the Daedra. Horrible monsters are roaming the bright elven forests.
- The battered High Elf from the epic trailer of the base game is back and gazes determinedly at an elven tower that is currently being buffeted by purplish Daedric energy. “The homeland is in danger”.
- And because all of that is not impressive enough, the best comes last: A daring Khajiit with earrings shows his furry head and says in a purring voice: “Your homeland needs you more urgently than ever. Welcome back!” The cat person is none other than Razum-dar, one of the most popular NPCs from the base game, who also appeared in some DLCs. Razum-dar is the master spy of Queen Ayrenn and impresses with his dry humor and cunning.
The details from the gameplay trailer
The gameplay trailer for Summerset is a bit longer and shows the contents of the chapter in game graphics. The following details particularly stand out:
- Beautiful griffins fly in front of a picturesque elven city. The new main quest hub will be similarly large and impressive as Vivec City from Morrowind.
- The griffins later clearly appear as foes, but who knows, you can surely ride them (but probably not as flying mounts) or at least take them along as pets.
- What stands out early: There is a clear separation between the beautiful surface and the caverns beneath the island. The lightless caves look like they are insect dens.
- Queen Ayrenn allows the Summerset islands to be opened to all peoples of Tamriel. Since “Arena” – the original game of the Elder Scrolls series – you have not been able to access the islands. The xenophobic High Elves hardly let anyone in. So you can expect grumpy and racist snooty elves who will oppose you, even though you want to save them.
- It is already known that the “Daedric Triad” will appear again. This time it is probably mainly about the Daedra princes Mephala and Nocturnal. Nocturnal’s ravens appear in the form of bizarre raven creatures in the trailer.
- At the end of the trailer, the camera sinks again underground, where a statue of Mephala, the lady of the spider demons, can be seen. Curiously surrounded by ravens. Mephala and Nocturnal seem to play a very special role in Summerset.
