The Elder Scrolls Online (PC, PS4, Xbox One) brings along many improvements for PvP fans with the Addon Summerset update 18. You will receive more rewards, more stable servers, and the battleground mode for everyone!
On May 21 (PC/Mac) and June 6 (PS4/Xbox One), the new Addon Summerset for ESO will be released. However, even those who do not purchase the expansion will receive something with update 18. The patch will change several aspects of the PvP system of The Elder Scrolls Online.
More Fun in Alliance War
A large part of the planned PvP innovations for update 18 concerns the Alliance Wars in the central province of Cyrodiil. You can expect the following innovations:
- There are additional daily quests that will give you extra rewards for tasks you are already doing. You need to capture three castles, conquer nine resources, defeat 40 enemy players, and secure three settlements.
- As a reward for your efforts, there will be a chest with crafting materials, treasure maps, and tokens that you can exchange for a special helmet.
- Participants in battles will always receive their rewards at the appropriate time, regardless of their location. Gone are the days when an unfortunate internet crash cost you your Alliance points.
- Those who just stand around and do not participate in battles will not receive any points. Those who are particularly active will earn more points.
- Catapults are now ideal for blocking attackers.
- NPCs in Champion Areas are now slightly stronger to provide a better challenge.
Additionally, there is a subtle performance improvement as ESO can now utilize more CPU cores. The often inadequate performance in Alliance large-scale battles has long been a nuisance.
Battlegrounds for Everyone!
The new Addon Summerset does not bring a new PvP mode. However, all ESO players will now really receive the PvP Battlegrounds from the previous Addon Morrowind. Until now, this PvP mode was reserved only for purchasers of Morrowind.
With update 18, every player can sign up for the battlegrounds and play them for free. Additionally, Battlegrounds are now even more rewarding, as those who achieve 1st or 2nd place in a random match will receive an additional reward chest.
PvP is definitely worthwhile with the upcoming ESO update.
