The Necromancer is an important part of The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr. Fans are already looking forward to the Necromancer and his abilities related to death. Watch the trailer here.
This is shown in the trailer: In the new video for The Elder Scrolls Online, there is now an animated look at the Necromancer class. As a Necro, you deal directly with death. You can create corpses and then use them for spells and other abilities.
And that’s what the trailer is about. Smaller and larger skeletons emerge from dark power out of nowhere, dead creatures wander around like zombies.
What abilities does the Necromancer master? Necromancers can create numerous minions from corpses to fight for them. However, they don’t last long. So they are not permanent companions.
For the Necro to effectively use skills, he needs corpses for some abilities. Positioning in battles is therefore extremely important for this class. Skills that create corpses when none are available help in this regard.

By manipulating the dead, Necromancers can
- strengthen themselves
- deal damage to enemies
- heal allies

These are the consequences of the Necromancer’s abilities: In Tamriel’s society, necromancy is despised. This means that you can be reported for crimes if you use skills of this class in sight of normal citizens.
However, this only applies to skills that are obviously necromancy. For example, if you make the dead rise from the ground. The healing ability “Shape Flesh” may look unappetizing, but it doesn’t seem to disturb the citizens, explains Kyle Nowak, the Combat Designer of this class, in the TESO blog.
To ensure that this legal system does not act too harshly, the developers have made some changes in the world. So you can quest in peace, without NPCs immediately reporting you and you receiving a bounty.
When will the Necromancer be available? It will be playable with the new Elsweyr expansion. This starts on June 4, 2019. Here’s why you shouldn’t miss this expansion:
