In The Elder Scrolls Online chapter Summerset, which will be released on May 21 for PC and Mac, players are once again faced with a challenge. These are the raids of ESO.
Cloudrest demands everything from the players, but entices them with exclusive rewards, such as the Shadowhide. The character skin is a true eye-catcher and is only available through the challenge.
Everyone has a task
The raid Cloudrest is said to be heavily inspired by a fan favorite, the challenge “Maw of Lorkhaj”. There, players have their own tasks during the fight against Rakkhat.
Players must work together as a team: If players do not fulfill their task, the team faces defeat. “With Cloudrest, we wanted to deepen this idea and assign each member of the group a unique role,” says ESO Dungeon Lead Mike Finnigan.
During the boss battles, the group must decide who from the team will be sent to the shadow version of the arena. Separated from one another, the players must communicate well to successfully emerge from the battle.
Face the three Welkynars
The background of the raid: In Summerset, there are four knightly battlemages who set out on their missions from Cloudrest. Each of the Welkynars represents a cardinal direction and embodies one of the four elements. Three of them have been corrupted by an ancient enemy and are now causing problems.
That is why Olorime, the last of the four Welkynars, asks you to look around the city and overwhelm her colleagues. Each Welkynar has a special attack that the whole group needs to deal with. If you do not counter this, your group is in danger.
Players are free to choose the order in which they tackle the three Welkynars in the raid. The order not only affects the difficulty of the challenge but also changes the equipment you receive at the end of the challenge.
The challenge rewards you with cool equipment
Sets as rewards: Cloudrest rewards brave players who face the challenges with particularly strong item sets. The item sets are inspired by the four elements of the Welkynars. For example, the cloak of Siroria conjures a fire circle.
In the veteran mode of the challenge, there is also a chance to find perfect versions of the item sets. The perfect versions give you an additional bonus when you wear 5 items of the set. You can impose a handicap on the final boss of the challenge. The harder you make the final fight, the more perfect equipment you can find.
If you want to stand out from the crowd, you need to face the hard veteran version of the raid. If you successfully complete this, you will be rewarded with the Shadowhide. This changes your appearance and gives you the look of a Possessed.

The corrupted city of Cloudrest can be saved by you if you first deal with the Welkynars. However, you can also directly attack the source of the corruption. Your decision affects the future of the city.
