The recently launched Echo of Soul is closing the second of three regions. After Korea, China is also withdrawing.
Last week, news came from the homeland Korea: The publisher is parting ways with the free-to-play MMO Echo of Soul. The servers will be shut down. It has been running there since September 2013.
In the West, “Echo of Soul” is still relatively fresh, having launched only at the end of May. Television advertising was booked, the game is still hot.
Aeriagames, which represents Echo of Soul in Europe and North America, issued the statement: This has nothing to do with us. The publisher has its own reasons. The developers continue to work for us, we will provide the existing game content, and the team will also develop new game content for us.
In China, the situation appears to have been handled differently. As the local publisher Changyou reports, the servers for Echo of Soul will close on November 17. No reasons were given. Echo of Soul was released in China in October 2014.
