The alpha of the online game Rend is currently taking place. According to the developers, the title is on a good path towards the early access phase, which is supposed to showcase the complete survival game.
From Alpha to Early Access
What is the difference between Alpha and Early Access? This difference is defined differently by each development studio. Frostkeep sees the alpha as a phase of the game in which all features are gradually introduced. The early access version is supposed to showcase the complete game, which is not yet free of bugs and still requires balancing.
The plan for Rend 2018
This is how the alpha will be expanded. Until the start of the early access phase later this year, Frostkeep Studios will continuously make improvements to Rend and introduce new features. These include:
- Improved PvP
- “Reckoning” system, where once a week the shields around player bases drop and large attacks begin
- Taming
- Better crafting
- Talents and perks to enhance your hero
- Social system with faction reputation
- New biomes and game areas
- Improved UI
New invitations to the alpha are coming. You can sign up for the alpha on the official website of Rend. With a bit of luck, you’ll receive an invitation and will soon be selected when the developers send out new invitations – which is expected to happen next week.
Rend: Early Access release still in 2018
When does the early access phase start? Currently, there is no release date for the early access phase yet. However, it is expected to happen still in 2018, and the developers state that they are on a good path.
Rend aims to usher in an evolution in the survival MMORPG genre.
