Yesterday we speculated based on the released roadmap of the MMORPG Worlds Adrift that a release might still take a while, but now the Early Access version has been announced.
Early Access does not necessarily mean “release.” As seen in other examples like DayZ or Shroud of the Avatar, it is quite possible for an Early Access phase to last several years. Nevertheless, entering Early Access is an important step for the MMORPG Worlds Adrift and also for the developers.

Early Access Time is Coming
Worlds Adrift will be playable in Early Access via Steam starting May 17. From that date, you can purchase the title for 22.99 euros, but you should expect that it is still an unfinished version.
As can also be seen in the published roadmap, there is still plenty of work ahead for the developers before Worlds Adrift can receive a launch status. However, the developers are already very proud of the status the game has achieved so far and believe that it is now time to “open it up” for more players.

An MMO with Many Freedoms
The MMORPG was also presented at the London Games Festival, where the singer Freja Frances performed the game’s soundtrack, which is composed by Murugan Thiruchelvam. Additionally, the development studio Bossa Studios released a new trailer. This shows what to expect in the MMO:
- You explore many floating islands with your self-created hero
- There you build bases, for which you will need to search for resources on the islands
- You build airships to fly to remote islands and explore them
- You team up with other players to have a chance against hostile groups
- You engage in intense aerial battles with your airship and also fight in PvP on the islands
Worlds Adrift offers you a large sandbox in which you enjoy many freedoms. And starting May 17, you can join in the Early Access phase.
