EA Sports drops the curtains and provides the first real insights into the FIFA successor EA Sports FC 24. In an initial trailer, scenes and the cover of the Ultimate Edition were shown.
The trailer showcases many current and former stars of women’s and men’s football. However, the cover is sparking plenty of discussions not just because of the new content.
The new trailer heats up speculation for EA Sports FC 24 considerably, but mainly the peculiar look of the cover is causing excitement in the fan forums. Something seems off with the players.
EA Sports FC 24 Cover: What is the FIFA community criticizing?
From the reactions to the new trailer for EA Sports FC 24, EA presumably had something different in mind, as the roughly one-and-a-half-minute video shows many stars of today and yesteryear standing together on the pitch. However, the unity of women and men is getting overshadowed right now, as the cover of the Ultimate Edition presented is causing a stir online.
The reason: the partly strangely appearing faces of the cover stars. Especially Italian icon Andrea Pirlo is not faring well with Reddit users. They speculate about what Pirlo must have seen to get such a horrified look.
The top comment from “Leedssufferer” reads as follows: “One of the funniest covers I’ve ever seen. A few real gems in there, like Pirlo with his empty, endless gaze into the distance.“
Another user simply summed up the “highlights” of the cover including Pirlo in a separate post:
In the end, however, there is also some positivity to be found in the otherwise critically regarded cover. David Beckham, who else, looks as good as ever. User “_HeyItsBob_” agrees: “In a picture where everyone else looks silly, Becks still looks incredible.”
Also interesting: The announcement of the release date will take place on July 13. We expect a new trailer here as well. This means EA will soon have the chance to forget the small faux pas and smooth over the waves.
