When you start the FUT mode in EA Sports FC 24, you have very few coins available. We show you an affordable Bundesliga team for the start.
What kind of team is this? If you want to start with players from the Bundesliga, you have many options to assemble a powerful team. However, strong cards are expensive and coins are scarce in Ultimate Team at the start.
That’s why you’ll find here a team that you can put together for under 20,000 coins total cost (as of 24.09.2023).
Here, the focus is especially on particularly cheap cards that provide you a foundation in the first games to earn initial rewards. With such teams, you can compete well in Squad Battles to earn rewards, or gather initial victories in the first divisions of Division Rivals.
Over time, you can then start replacing players and improving the team.
11 affordable Bundesliga players to start in Ultimate Team
This is the team: So you don’t have to worry about chemistry, we only looked at players who all come from the same league: the Bundesliga.
It was ensured that the team costs at most 20,000 coins. As of now, the selection is more like around 15,000 coins. However, note that prices fluctuate on the transfer market.
Here you can find the team that we created using a Squad Builder for EA Sports FC 24:

Who is in the team? In goal, the Bundesliga offers many strong options; we decided on Hrádecký (about 800 coins) as an affordable but solid choice.
In defense, it gets a bit more expensive: Far left stands Grimaldo, who is already one of the best LBs in the Bundesliga. He currently costs 3,000 coins and is the most expensive in the squad, but the investment might be worth it. He can also play LM and brings PlayStyles that improve his crosses, free kicks, and anticipation.
In central defense, there are two classics of FUT starter squads from recent years with Lacroix (about 1,700) and Klostermann (about 1,500). They bring a good combination of speed and defensive security.
On the right, there is Mazraoui (700), an affordable player who brings PlayStyles that give him a solid defensive and technical foundation.
In midfield are Skhiri (2,100) and Kohr (700) as cheap but effective destroyers. Skhiri could also decrease in price as an ordinary gold card.
In front, Julian Brandt is positioned, who currently costs 1,400 coins. Brandt even brings the “PlayStyle Plus” named “Tiki Taka”. This allows him to make quick direct passes on the ground and operate very accurately and with speed in short passing. A very good centerpiece for a starter team. In addition, his curled shots from distance are also a real weapon.
In left midfield, there are not many cheap alternatives in the Bundesliga. We opted for David Raum (750), who could also act as a left-back. With him and Grimaldo, you have a very secure flank. On the right, Serge Gnabry (2,200) can cause danger as a dribbler.
Last but not least is the striker. If you want to stay really cheap, Ihlas Bebou is a good option (600). The forward has decent speed and four stars in skills. He would also be an option for the early evolutions to get even better stats.
With this starter team, you could start cheaply and collect initial victories. Then it will be time for upgrades, for which we will show you a few examples.
Possible improvements in the next step:
- Leroy Sané (RM, 13,500 coins)
- Donyell Malen (RM, 12,000 coins)
- Timo Werner (ST, 12,500 coins)
- Konrad Laimer (CDM, 9,000 coins)
- Nico Schlotterbeck (CB, 8,100)
- Florian Wirtz (CAM, 5,000)
