The launch of EA Sports FC 24 is getting closer. This year, there will be no demo in which we can get first impressions of the new FIFA successor. A high-ranking EA employee revealed to us a few months ago why they decided against it.
Why is there no demo? In an interview with meinMMO from April 2023, David Jackson, Vice President Brand Marketing EA Sports, explained to us that there will be no more free demos in the future. He justified this decision by stating that the content in the test versions would differ too much from the final product.
Jackson also explained that the demos were never meant to show the player how the new game would look, but rather to obtain feedback from the players. EA is now collecting this feedback instead through the beta version of the game.
Closed Beta replaces demo
What is the Closed Beta? The beta allows the player, similar to a demo, to make the first experiences with the new gameplay mechanics.
Unlike a demo, where you could usually only play a few teams in certain single-player game modes, the beta allows for a more comprehensive gaming experience with a variety of modes and teams. Even the first online matches can be completed in the beta.
The major drawback of the Closed Beta is hidden in the name itself. “Closed” means that it is generally not accessible, but rather intended for a specific number of players. This year, the Closed Beta started on August 10th and will end soon on August 31st.

Play with Early Access a week before release
How can you play EA Sports FC 24 before the release? To be able to play FC 24 before the official release on September 29th, you need the Early Access. You gain this early access by pre-ordering the Ultimate Edition.
In addition to the early access, the Ultimate Edition offers additional FC points and some extra player items for you, so you can start the new Ultimate Team season immediately with a little financial boost and a star or two.
As a special incentive, EA Sports has come up with something for the pre-order customers of the Ultimate Edition. For the first time, there will be an exclusive event for the Early Access players.
