The EA servers seem to be having issues right now. Anyone who wants to play some of the popular games from the publisher on PC, PS5, or Xbox has no access to online modes. Especially frustrating: even single-player games are affected.
What is going on with EA? Apparently, EA’s servers are currently unavailable. Anyone trying to play FIFA or Apex Legends or buy a game will be greeted with errors or a timeout. Downloads seem to work but are extremely slow.
The official support from Electronic Arts has confirmed on Twitter that there is an outage that is currently being worked on. In the meantime, one cannot access online modes or log into their account.
When will the servers be back online? This cannot be said at the moment. The team has been working on a solution for several hours already, but there is still no update on the situation. As soon as we know more, you will find an update here.
Update at 6:10 PM: According to EA, the servers are back online (via Twitter), but users are still complaining that they cannot log in. For some, it took longer than the message; others still cannot play.

But it’s not just multiplayer games that suffer from the current server down, but also solo games like Sims or the new Star Wars: Jedi Survivor. Both games require a connection to the EA servers and have no offline mode.
This frustrates many fans who are already annoyed by the constant online requirement. RedGamingTech writes on Twitter: “And that’s why offline modes for single-player campaign games, for which we… well, paid, are very welcome?”
Jedi Survivor just came out on April 28, and many fans want to play now. The PC port is already facing major technical issues, which the server down will likely contribute to further bad moods. And exactly on May 4, the international Star Wars day.
