The new EA FC 25 was officially released on September 27th. After more than a month, EA Sports released the first statistics for the new football simulation. It stands out that a particular football association seems to be especially popular among players.
EA has published interesting numbers about FC 25 on their official site. The data were collected after the first 25 days of EA FC 25 and provide information about:
- the most played matches for men and women
- the most frequent transfers in career mode
- the number of games played and goals scored, with a special focus on the Rush mode
- the most played stadiums
- the number of countries where FC 25 is played
Which association dominates? In almost every statistic, players from the Spanish Football Association (Real Federación Española de Fútbol) are found at the top. This refers to professionals from the first Spanish league for men (La Liga EA Sports) and women (Liga F).
The best example is the most played matches in FC 25. In the top 3 for men and women, a Spanish team appears in 5 out of a total of 6 pairings. In both top lists, the “El Clásico” between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid ranks first.
At least one of the two teams is also present in almost all other popular pairings in FC 25. The only exception is the 2nd place for women. Here, the English London derby between FC Arsenal and FC Chelsea has made it.
Especially curious. In 3rd place for the most played matches for men is the match between Real Madrid and Real Madrid. The players seem not to want to give their opponents the advantages that Real’s new offensive, composed of Vini Jr., Bellingham, and Mbappé, brings. By choosing the identical teams, they could be trying to create equality of opportunity.
Spanish leagues dominate Ultimate Team, Career, and Rush
What other statistics do the Spanish leagues lead? EA Sports’ data also shows that professionals from the Spanish leagues also lead important statistics for the popular modes Ultimate Team, Career, and Rush.
Top scorers in Ultimate Team
In the women’s category, 3 players from Liga F, Pajor (FC Barcelona), Amezaga (Athletic Bilbao), and Franssi (Real Sociedad), have made it to the top 3 of the 5 best scorers in FC 25 Ultimate Team. Pajor is in high demand because of her golden play style, which allows for particularly effective use of the Sprint Boost.
The players Amezaga and Franssi received improved special cards that could be obtained for free early on. This could explain the many goals.
Among the men, Griezmann (Atlético Madrid) in 2nd place and Mbappé (Real Madrid) in 3rd place are only surpassed by Thuram from the Italian Serie A in the “Most Goals” category.
While Griezmann is an extremely strong scorer for a smaller budget, Mbappé belongs to the absolute elite among top players and is therefore extremely expensive in Ultimate Team. Both demonstrate their quality with many goals scored.
Most frequent transfers in career mode
In career mode, the dominance of the Spanish association is evident in the players who were most frequently transferred. With world footballer Aitana Bonmatí and her teammate Alexia Putellas (both FC Barcelona), two women from Liga F have secured 1st and 3rd places for the most transfers.
Among the men, it is primarily the young talents from La Liga who attract considerable interest. Lamine Yamal from FC Barcelona leads as the freshly named best young player of the 2023/24 season. He is followed by Endrick (Real Madrid) in 2nd place, Pau Cubarsí (FC Barcelona) in 4th place, and Nico Williams (Athletic Bilbao) in 5th place.
Here, the enormous development potential of these young players is likely to contribute to the lively transfer activity. Spain is also among the most scouted countries in career mode, possibly due to these talents, alongside England.
Most played professionals in Rush
And in the new Rush mode, professionals from the Spanish leagues also feature among the top spots.
Among the men, the most played professionals in Rush only secure 4th place among the top 5. This position has once again been claimed by Griezmann from Atlético Madrid.
For the women, Patri Guijarro and Pajor (both FC Barcelona) and Tere Abelleira (Real Madrid) lead the top 3 of the most played women in Rush.

Not surprisingly, with the “Estadio Santiago Bernabéu” of Real Madrid also being a Spanish venue, it ranks 2nd among the most played stadiums in FC 25. Only the historic Old Trafford, home to the English traditional club Manchester United, has had more games played in FC 25.
