In EA FC 25 you can now find a Plus on some player cards in Ultimate Team. What is it?
Where is the Plus? When you open your team in Ultimate Team, you will see Plus signs on various player cards. As of now, there are the following options:
- No Plus
- One Plus
- Two Plus signs
These Plus signs can be found next to the position of your player card.
What does the Plus mean? The Plus is part of the new professional roles feature, which is a part of the new FC IQ. All players in FC 25 can fill different roles in their position, which are divided into three focuses.
These roles determine how the players move off the ball. This means that depending on the roles you assign to your cards, the behavior of the individual player and thus the entire team will change.
All players can fill all roles in their position, but to varying degrees: The Plus indicates the familiarity your card has with the respective role. The player roles are based on real data.
This means that your card can fill a role with one Plus more effectively than a role without Plus. And the role with double Plus is mastered best by the card.
However, it should also be noted that EA explicitly points out in the pitch notes that you should not necessarily build your team around ++ roles. The base roles should already make a significant difference and have an impact on your tactics.
Overall, this gives you more individual options for team formation. So, you might want to look not only at the best ratings in EA FC 25 but also at how the players fit into your playing style.
What player roles are there in EA FC 25?
These are the roles: Currently, there are a total of 31 roles in Ultimate Team, each with different weighting that you can choose from. A detailed explanation of the roles can be found in the game when you want to define your roles.
Where do I set the roles? You can find them in your team overview when you go to set tactics. Depending on the player card, you can see which roles they can fill particularly well.
In the tactics menu, you can simulate on the activity map which areas your player covers in their role and how the player roles change your formation during ball possession.
Alternatively, you can check the roles in the player biography, but you cannot set them there. Both can also be done in the web app for FC 25.
