The Sprint Boost in EA FC 25 was supposed to be removed from the game with a patch. Yet some players are still benefiting from a speed boost. On MeinMMO, you will learn how to continue using the Sprint Boost.
What is the Sprint Boost? With the Sprint Boost, your player accelerates from a standstill or during slow dribbling to top speed in a brief moment.
Particularly the explosive start makes the Sprint Boost the perfect means to overcome opposing defenders with little effort.
Why was the Sprint Boost patched? At the beginning of FC 25, any professional could execute the Sprint Boost, regardless of whether they had a lot or little speed. The consequence was that most players focused only on this OP boost, which seemed quite annoying.
With one of the first major patches for FC 25, the problem was initially fixed, as its effectiveness was significantly reduced for all players. But this also brought new problems.
Running away from opposing defenders became virtually impossible. This also caused some major streamers to despair in the Weekend League.
Sprint Boost now works thanks to 2 PlayStyles
The Sprint Boost has been available again under adjusted conditions for some time now.
How does the Sprint Boost work now? The inputs on the controller remain the same. Press L1 on the PlayStation/LB on the Xbox to enter side dribbling. To execute the Sprint Boost, release L1/LB abruptly and sprint with R2/RT in the desired direction in front of you.
This triggers the Sprint Boost, at least for certain players. Because you now need at least one of two PlayStyles for maximum acceleration.
Which PlayStyles do you need? There are now 2 important PlayStyles for the Sprint Boost:
- Quick Step (Silver/Gold)
- Frenzy (Silver/Gold)
For “Quick Step” and “Frenzy”: The better the PlayStyle, the more effective the Sprint Boost. This means players who have one of these two PlayStyles in Gold will have an even quicker start than the professionals who only have them in Silver.
The fastest players in FC 25 often have both PlayStyles.
As Frenzy and Quick Step are usually possessed by very fast players, the revised Sprint Boost has become somewhat more logical and no longer seems completely arbitrary.
